Journey to the End of the Night: Oakland

this game is OVER - post/read adventures

Congratulations!

Congratulations to everyone who came out to play with us in the streets of Oakland on Saturday! More than 250 players, about two dozen hard-working volunteers, and untold numbers of variously confused, friendly, and delighted non-player citizens all had a part in a fantastic evening.

The Winner!

Particular congrats go out to our winner, Oluwaseun, who reached the Lake Merrit gazebo with a full manifest and his green ribbon intact after a nearly 3.5 hr adventure. And we could not fail to mention our runner-up, Trey, and the winner of the evening's heartbreak award, Craig, who was tagged about 10 feet away from the final safe zone and certain victory.

On a night of especially intense chasing, we offer our wholehearted congratulations to each of the more than fifty players who survived the evening through cunning, subtlety, and some seriously circuitous routes. This was a particularly difficult-to-survive Journey, and we were pleasantly amazed that so many of you were still able to safely thread your way through the chokepoints, chasers, and checkpoints scattered across the city.

We heard lots of great stories at the finish line, but know there must be more than a few that haven't been shared yet. Head over to the GAME OVER page for one way you can post yours.

Thanks to everyone who played, volunteered, promoted, and organized a great game!

These were the checkpoints (manifest map, instructions):

  2. Lake Merritt colonnade
  3. Athol Park Tennis Courts
